I can’t believe I’ve never posted this recipe. I make baked apples alllll the time. And probably talk about them even more.  Why haven’t I posted this??

Baking apples in the air fryer is probably the laziest way to make food I can think of. Seriously it takes 5 minutes of prep, your inattention for 20 minutes and then as Alyssa says “La La!” they are ready to eat.

Air Fryer Baked Apples

Most of the time I pop these in right before I get in the shower.  I mean why not?

  1. Apples are sturdy creatures that don’t need your attention or help while cooking
  2. By using an air fryer you don’t have to worry about them burning if you forget to go right back to them (my Simple Living Products Air Fryer has a cool down cycle that prevents overcooking)
  3. You won’t forget them because the smell is Uh-Mazing!!

Baked Apples also freeze well. Ya’ll know I don’t meal prep to eat the same thing for a week but as a busy grandma, wife and business owner I am not opposed to prepping freezer meals for quick reheating.  The Air Fryer Baked Apples were EXACTLY the same 30 days later from the freezer in my Meal Prep Haven containers and you can take them straight from the freezer to the microwave.

  1. apples are sturdy creatures that don't need your attention or help while cooking

Ingredients

  • 3 apples (I prefer firm apples like small honeycrisp, pink lady, winesap, granny smith
  • non stick spray (or a couple of quick spritzes from your Evo Oil Sprayer 4 sprays = approx 1 tsp)
  • 3 tsp Truvia Baking Blend or other low cal sweetener
  • ground cinnamon (or Dak's Chocolate Crave!) to taste
  • 1 Tbsp water

Instructions

Literally the easiest instructions you've ever received...

  1. Core 3 to 4 apples
  2. Place in baking pan that came with your air fryer or one that will fit and safe to use in an air fryer
  3. Add water to pan
  4. Lightly spray apples
  5. Sprinkle with Truvia and cinnamon
  6. Place in air fryer basket and close
  7. Cook on 260 F for 20 minutes while you go take a shower, a nap, read a magazine, literally anything else...since the air fryer cools down after the cycle is over you can't overcook them!
  8. Enjoy alone
  9. Enjoy in oatmeal
  10. Enjoy in my Apple Fritters recipe
  11. Enjoy with a scoop of low point ice cream or whipped topping
  12. Just enjoy!
