Soooo…I may have gone to Trader Joe’s again.  Annnnd I may have done a little spontaneous end of the aisle shopping.  But let’s face it, at TJ’s you want to shop those ends because that’s where all the new stuff is.  The good stuff.  And this is good, new, yum stuff.

I went to Trader Joe’s in search of their new Sriracha Ranch dressing because an Instagram friend who works there kept going on and on and on about it.  So I had to get some, I mean I owed it to her to try it right?  But guess what I found?  Finger licking, lip smacking, couldn’t stop talking about it…Trader Joe’s Organic Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce.  Oh my.

I made the mistake of opening the lid and tasting it.  Well then it was on.  Something was getting made with this brown and beautiful new heaven in a bottle.  It needed to be simple though, and quick, hubby got to bomb home but I only had him for a few hours and he was already getting sleepy.  Life on the road is rough but getting something besides pizza and McD’s in him for a quick meal is sometimes even harder.  15 minutes start to finish and he was crying.  Ok, crying because apparently it was a little too much sriracha but crying none the less.  (p.s. He did suggest I use half the sriracha bbq so I didn’t kill anyone hahaha)

Franks N’ Beans…with a Kick! – 12 Weight Watchers Points Plus per serving (4 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz Butterball Every Day Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage cut into slices and quartered
  • 2 cans (approximately 3 1/2 cups) Vegetarian Baked Beans
  • 1 can (approximately 1 3/4 cups) Organic Black Beans
  • 1/4 cup TJ’s Organic Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce (for normal humans, I used 1/2 cup in mine!)

Combine all ingredients in at least a 2 quart saucepan and heat over medium high until liquid just starts to bubble.  Reduce heat to medium and lightly cover.  Heat for 10 more minutes stirring occasionally and recovering.  Keep an eye on this one, the sugary goodness of the BBQ sauce will overheat quickly and stick so keep stirring…it’s only 15 minutes you can do this!   If the 1/4 cup sauce isn’t quite enough kick, add more a tablespoon at a time until to your taste.  Just be sure and count any extra points across the four servings.  This one will be a staple at out house, I am curious how you like it so please let me know!
