WW (Weight Watchers) Chat #162: 26 Days Until Spring

Comments are Disabled In the spirit of transparency, I do receive commission from mentioning some of the products in this post. Any commission I earn comes at no additional cost to you and I’ll never recommend products that I don’t use, love and believe in.

Last week we looked at setting STAR goals for our weight loss. Those goals should be:

S – Specific
T – Truly doable
A – Active
R – Relevant

Your homework for the week was to set a STAR goal for yourself and share with me on social media… Let’s see how you did with your homework!

  • Stacey pre-tracked her weekend camping trip and packed what she needed to “keep her guardrails up”
  • Michele’s goal was to make her bed every day
  • Kimberly bought an exercise bike at Aldi for $63. Her STAR is to ride at least 5 miles a day

Bravo ladies, you nailed it!

This Week’s Topic: Chat #162: Think Outside the Scale

Have you ever done everything right and still didn’t get the loss you expected at the scale? Have you ever gotten a loss you didn’t deserve? We’re here to talk about all those moments in today’s chat.

5 Ways to Judge Progress Without the Scale

  1. Moving a notch tighter on your belt, watch, or fitness tracker
  2. Breathing better and walking farther
  3. Needing to size down your underwear/bra
  4. Using a larger selection in your closet (things that you may not have worn for awhile!)
  5. You can comfortably bend over to tie your shoes or shave your legs

This Week’s Homework: #NSV

Remember the scale isn’t the only place you have a victory… post your NSV (Non-Scale Victories) and tag me so we can celebrate with you!

Extra Credit

Sleeveless shirt season is coming! I asked what everyone’s favorite non-gym exercise is and we are using those to make 3 “Get Fit Games”

Game 1: Get Ready Go Go (morning)

Pick 5 things you do every morning that are usually stationary and go go instead!

  • While coffee is brewing, do arm exercises
  • Brushing teeth? Heel raises
  • Do 10 squats while you’re getting dressed
  • Walk the dog an extra lap
  • March in place while you wait on your kids or husband

Game 2: While at Work Workout (all day)

  • Stand up when you answer the phone
  • Hand deliver a message to a coworker instead of emailing it
  • Find a few office chair exercises on YouTube
  • Parking lot patrol: volunteer to pick up trash in the lot for 10 minutes. You get some cardio and everyone else enjoys a clean place to park!
  • Office obstacle course

Game 3: After Work Wrap Up (evening)

If you watch the same shows most nights, make up a game! Actually write it down and keep it handy.

For example, when watching Big Bang Theory choose quick exercises you’ll do every time:

  • There’s a scene in the lunchroom
  • A character says the word “physics”
  • Sheldon knocks on Penny’s door
  • Someone makes fun of Howard
  • Sheldon says “Bazinga!” (pick a more challenging exercise for this one!)
