Trish reports it’s a different  policy in her California workshop region, someone mentioned (sorry I couldn’t see you!) that Arkansas has also changed to the end of February to receive your continued benefits.

If you are in East Tennessee we now have Wellness Check-Ins in Maryville, Oak Ridge, Powell, and at the Cedar Bluff main location. Still no word on in person workshops *wah*

Last week’s Chat #198 Talk To Yourself Like a Friend we chatted about how easy it is to lift up a friend while we beat ourselves up over the same things. Kind words work just as well on the inside as they do on the outside!

Your #mindoverwhatmatters homework for this week was to find a situation where you might talk to a friend differently than you would yourself, turn it around and put your mind over what matters! Let’s see how you did.

  • Sherry is being mindful that sometimes we need to take baby steps like we did when we were learning to walk. There are cheers and excitement when we succeed, but stumbling is likely to happen. She’s remembering to get up, dust herself off, and trust herself to try again when those stumbles happen.
  • Barbara is taking baby steps too. She’s reminding herself that she can accomplish her lifestyle changes even on difficult days!
  • Terry is taking it one day at a time! Even if today wasn’t perfect she’s smiling and carrying on because tomorrow is waiting for her!

Bravo ladies, you nailed it!

This Week’s Topic: Your Dining In (or Out) Guide

Wow what a year: pandemics, hurricanes, the loss of friends or family – 2020 will be very different for many of us whether we are eating in, celebrating out, or just trying to figure out how to enjoy this holiday new normal. WW has some great strategies for keeping the sanity while enjoying the season. Check them out!

  1. Know Before You Go: If you will be going out or can get a peek at the menu ahead of time try to look up and pre-point as many items as you can.  At least have an idea before you arrive so you don’t get sticker shock after
  2. Ambience is Everything: Missing Grandma’s fancy plates and candles? Set up your own! You can get some great deals at thrift stores and you won’t have to worry so much about them breaking or chipping. Send Grandma a picture, who knows she may want to come to YOUR house after this pandemic settles back down!
  3. Cheers!: Coffee, fancy teas, wine, cocktails or mocktails… whatever your poison, make sure you have what you need on hand (remember we have Skinny Mixes coming soon!) and raise a glass during that Zoom Thanksgiving get together!
  4. Snack Your Way to Success: That’s right… start eating before the event starts. Use zero point foods to keep your tummy happy so you can track a successful day and feel great about your choices!
  5. Photobomb!: While everyone else is taking photos of the delicious things you are sure to enjoy, make sure you capture every item on your plate so you can track it later!

This Week’s Homework: #dineindineout

Choose one of the FIVE methods listed above to beat holiday madness and show us what you got. Maybe it’s a pic of you virtually toasting someone from your book club with your favorite coffee or tea. Or how about a screenshot of the meal you looked up BEFORE you got to the restaurant. Whichever you choose tag #dineindineout. Post it and tag me for your homework AND to earn your next super cool badge!
