News and Reviews December 2022

  • Tonight is Chat #300!!!! You will need a piece of paper and your preferred writing utensil for the second half.
  • Next week is Christmas. The popular vote is NO CHAT on Christmas, but YES chat on New Year’s Day. I think I’m ok with that!
  • We are having an end of the year blowout / closeout on retail items here at the showroom. Everything will be 25% off this week, 35% off the first week of Jan, and then whatever is left will be 50% off for another week. I wouldn’t wait too long to take advantage of this one because it includes Dak’s Spices, Souper Cubes, Pedal Java Coffee, Wet It Cloths, and all your faves! No coupon necessary, just go to www.ifyouhaveanegg.com/shop or directly to kckitchencenter.com and check out the deals!

Last week in Chat #299: Stop Believing The Lies, I was somehow off a week on the WW topics so I went off on my own LOL.

My daughter Casey ordered us each a copy of what I’m assuming she meant to be a “Bible Study” pep talk for both of us. I’m 67 pages in and had an epiphany. The book is titled “Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis and even at just under half way through this read I’m going to say go grab a copy on Amazon here. I’m serious, you need this.

Each chapter is titled “The Lie” followed by a topic. In chapter 6  “The Lie. No Is The Final Answer” Rachel made a statement so profound I felt the need to make it this week’s topic. We all tell ourselves lies, sometimes they are little and sometimes they are big. Last week we talked about pulling your hands away so you can see some of the truth. This week I want you to hear these words from Girl Wash Your Face, “When things are allowed to sit in the darkness, when we’re afraid to speak them aloud, we give them power”. We. Give. Them. Power. Wow.

The Lie – I’ll Never Lose Weight
That’s a lie (prepare to hear that three times tonight LOL). You may not lose as much weight as you think you want.  You may have to find your “sweet spot” on a program that works for you.  But if you fix what you do…part of which is getting rid of these lies…your weight will take care of itself

The Lie – No One Understands
And that’s another lie.  You are here because we get you.  Our stories might be different but trust me, we alllll get you.  The truth is you may just need to reach out to someone in our group and see if you can find an accountabilibuddy.  Someone on a similar path who will get you like no one else could.  I don’t think Julie and Deanna would mind me saying that their journey is miles apart, completely different home lives, not ever the same career…but they found each other and someone else does understand.  The truth is, you may just need to find that buddy but we all really do understand

The Lie – I Can’t Tell Anyone About….
My triple digit day. How much weight I gained during Covid. How many times I wasn’t honest on my tracker.

All Big. Fat. Lies. I can tell someone about them. I have told you about them. And you know what? When I didn’t let those things stay in the darkness they lost their power over me. Removing the power something has over you by exposing it is not only freeing, it’s in itself powerful

Your homework for last week was #JustALight. Last week I wanted you to step so far out of your comfort zone I may not get much participation. I’m ok with that, but I’m asking you to do it. Tell me, tell us ONE lie that you’ve let yourself think and then let us shed just a little light on it. It has no power over you!

Let’s see how you did!  (so hard to choose  just three this week!)

  • Anita bared it all. And her light shines so bright it is blinding!
  • Scott is our most active guy and his motivational posts are well “whew”…his story?  WHEW!!!  What a light!
  • Sylvia faced her lies, head on! And I know her commitment to being honest with herself will shine bright for all of us!

Bravo, you did it!

This Week’s Topic: End The Year With Intention!

Well it’s here. We have almost wrapped up 2022 and I won’t see you again until 2023, can you believe it?

I’m not setting resolutions for this new year, I am setting intentions instead.  I don’t want any more empty promises to myself.  No more pie in the sky, won’t make it past Jan 15th ideas of what the new year should look like.  The Weekly this week nailed it, let’s not complicate matters by making up fancy and cutesy titles for these little boxes.  You can go back to your Weekly at any time by going to the Discover tab at the bottom of your app and go to See More WW Techniques

I Value

I want you to say that out loud. “I Value”__________ and then insert something here. Did you say I value time spent away from my grandkids? I value taking handfuls of medicine and/or shots so I can keep eating cookies? Yeah…I didn’t think so. Shout out your answers!

I Intend To

Notice that it doesn’t say “I promise to” or even “I really really want to.” It says I intend to. In an article from nutritiouslife.com I found another wow statement.

Listen to what Yoga coach  Danielle has to say about this “The resolution problem lies in thinking that we aren’t “good” enough the way we are, and that we will be better or happier when we get something else, or change who we are.

In setting an intention, you resolve that you’re already “enough,” so you move forward without having an attachment to the outcome – it’s more about the journey. You might still want to lose 10 pounds, but it isn’t focused on skinny jeans, it involves caring enough about yourself to eat good food and exercise. Naturally the pounds come off, but it’s not because you need to change who you are.” Wow.

I Can

Again. Wow. Now that you have shouted out loud what you value and understand you are moving forward without having an attachment to the outcome, list 3 things that you “can” think, do, remember, whatever…you CAN!

This Week’s Homework: #NoResolutions

Your homework for this week is #NoResolutions. This week I don’t want to hear any new year resolutions, no unrealistic wish lists that involve changing who you are. NO RESOLUTIONS! Instead tell us what you Value, something you Intend to do in 2023, and what you Can think, do, remember, whatever you CAN…. and then type it, snap it, share it however you like, and then tag me for your next cool badge!

Don’t forget to do your homework #NoResolutions and tag me when you share on social media!

Extra Credit: Chat #300 Trivia!

Can you believe this is Chat #300? How has time gone this fast and how are so many of you still here listening to me babble on and on every week LOL?

Well since you listen to me go on and on I figured the best game to play would be TRIVIA!  Go grab your paper and favorite writing utensil if you haven’t already and let me know when you’re back.

Ready? Here we go! And if anyone answers ALL questions correctly (without cheating) during the LIVE you will get a prize!
