“And in the morning, I’m making waffles!” – Donkey, Shrek

Oooooh silly donkey, how right you are about the simple yet versatile plaid patterned breakfast we all affectionately refer to as a waffle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pancake.  Those fluffy and airy sweet flat breads are also delicious. But the little pockets that promise to hold syrups, jams, warm fruits and more just can’t be beat.
Out of a desire to put some low point, high protein, and easy to re-heat meal bases in our freezer here at the showroom, I decided to grab my Dash Waffle Maker and get to work.

Pro Tips!
  • Each box of Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes Flapjack and Waffle Mix will make approximately 3 batches of Dash size waffles.
  • Each batch makes approximately 9-10 one waffle servings depending on how many add-ins you use (like blueberries, chocolate chips, etc)
  • Each mini waffle is 1 WW point each
  • Each mini waffle contains a whopping 5 grams of protein each!

Check progress when you see steam and the plates have parted slightly with the rising waffle.  Remove with a wooden spoon or other non metal kitchen utensil to avoid scratching the non stick plates Serve immediately with low/no sugar syrup, warmed berries or your choice of toppings! Allow to completely cool before putting in the refrigerator or freezer.  Best if eaten within 3 days when refrigerated or within 3 months when frozen. If frozen, reheat in microwave for 30 seconds or pop in the toaster!
