Candied Turkey Bacon: 1 Blue / 1 Green / 1 Purple

Remember my Candied Bacon recipe from this summer?  It’s been a HUGE hit at our house and apparently alot of yours as well.  But we have some turkey eaters in our midst.  Some for health reasons, some just prefer turkey bacon.  Who am I to stand in the way of an amazing recipe just because someone doesn’t eat pork?  #allbaconisgoodbacon

Using Dak’s Red Mountain Rub, Sugar Free Syrup, Truvia Baking Blend and my Simple Living Products Air Fryer this recipe is a sweet and savory treat for breakfast, snack or any time!

Yield 6 slices

Turkey bacon doesn't crisp up like pork bacon.  Sorry folks it just doesn't...it's still just as delicious but please don't over cook it waiting on that "crunch"

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Applegate Uncured Turkey Bacon (or any equivalent 1 point per slice turkey bacon)
  • 1/4 cup Cary's Sugar Free syrup (or equivalent)
  • 3 tsp Truvia Baking Blend (or similar)
  • 2 tsp Dak's Spices Red Mountain Rub (or your favorite seasoning) - order the Dak's here and remember to use our Affiliate code EGGLADY to receive 10% off at checkout!

Instructions

  1. Leave turkey bacon pieces intact (do not cut like the pork version recipe)
  2. Add all 8 "pieces" of bacon to a zipper bag + syrup + spices and knead them to coat well
  3. spread in the bottom of you seasoned Simple Living Products Air Fryer (or similar) in one layer.  it's ok if they touch each other but they will curl more
  4. Cook on 380F for 8 minutes, check and if needed cook 2 more minutes.  Cooking time may vary by air fryer manufacturer
  5. Enjoy!  1 full slice = 1 serving for only 1 Freestyle Smart Point!
